The FTSE 100 company said that, in accordance with its dividend policy, the directors have - after considering the group's year-to-date performance, available free cash flows and future investment requirements - resolved to pay the special dividend, representing approximately $64m in aggregate.
It brings total dividends declared for the financial year to 24 cents per share, or $103m.
“This is the fourth special cash dividend in the company's history, which follows special dividends paid in 2012, 2014 and 2015, totaling $467m,” the board confirmed.
“The special dividend will be paid on 29 December in US dollars, with an option for shareholders to elect to receive the dividend in pounds sterling.”
