Wiles, who has chaired Paypoint's board for the last five years, had already been operating in the capacity of executive chairman since former CEO Patrick Headon stepped down from the board due to ill health last September.
The FTSE 250-listed group also made some other executive moves on Wednesday, with senior independent director Giles Kerr set to replace Wiles as chairman, effective immediately, while Rakesh Sharma has been appointed senior independent director.
Rachel Kentleton will also step down from her role as finance director and be replaced on an interim basis by Alan Dale, Paypoint's head of UK finance, and chief commercial officer Lewis Alcraft was promoted to the position of chief operating officer.
