The closures represented a third of the lender's branch network, its largest-ever closure, Unite said, according to the BBC.
CYBG justified the decision on the basis of the trend towards electronic banking.
Since 2011, lenders in the UK had seen visits to their branches drop by a third, CYBG reportedly said.
