Shawbrook appoints Iain Cornish as new chairman
Lending and savings bank Shawbrook announced the appointment of Iain Cornish as chairman with immediate effect, replacing Sir George Mathewson, who is stepping down as chairman and director of the company.

Robin Ashton, independent non-executive director and senior independent director, said: “We are delighted that Iain is joining the board as chairman, as he brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge.

Prior to this appointment, Cornish was a founding member of the PRA Board. He is currently a senior independent director of Arrow Global Group and of St James's Place. Before that, Cornish spent 19 years at Yorkshire Building Society, including eight as chief executive officer between 2003 and 2011.
