The AIM-traded video games developer said the new game would feature voiceover performances from Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson, as well as an “all-star cast” of new crew members
In the full announcement from Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, Universal Games and Digital Platforms and Codemasters’ Slightly Mad Studios, the game was described as a team-based, vehicular-heist action game set in the Fast & Furious universe.
It would be released on Sony’s PlayStation 4 system, Microsoft’s Xbox One and PC, and would launch in May 2020.
That would coincide with the ninth instalment in the Fast & Furious film saga, which was scheduled for release in United States cinemas on 22 May 2020.
“As huge fans of the franchise, it's an honor to be able to expand the Fast & Furious franchise into the world of video games with a brand new story, the introduction of a new crew with ties to beloved characters, and iconic and stunning set pieces,” said Slightly Mad Studios’ chief creative officer Andy Tudor.
“With Easter eggs throughout for fans and an intense multiplayer experience, Fast & Furious Crossroads is a thrilling collision course that puts players behind the wheel.”
