Mr Trump even suggested that the search giant could be prosecuted for not showing enough positive stories about him.
"Google search results for "Trump News" shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake New Media," he wrote on Twitter. "In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal?"
Trump argues that most results that pop-up are from 'left-wing' media outlets: "96% of results on 'Trump News' are from National Left-Wing Media, very dangerous.
"Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!" he concluded.
The search results that appear on any Google page are decided by an algorithm that brings in a whole host of factors, many of which remain known only to Google itself.
This is the first time Trump raised the issue of Google search engine’s alleged bias, although weeks ago he attacked social media platforms Facebook and Twitter for silencing non-left wing voices, vowing to address the issue.
