The AIM-traded firm said Shuttle Commander would allow users to take part in the Hubble space telescope missions first-hand, with accurate recreations of the space missions, landing missions and science missions.
It described Shuttle Commander as “the natural follow-up” to its popular Apollo 11 VR experience, which had generated just under €2m of revenues to date, and continued to sell three years after its initial release.
The group said it expected Shuttle Commander to appeal to a broader user base, as it was closer to a traditional video game with user interaction and gameplay, whereas Apollo 11 was a “purely cinematic and passive” experience.
“We are delighted to announce the release on 30 November of Shuttle Commander for PC VR users as this is the definitive version of the educational game and something we hope will prove just as popular as our previous space title Apollo 11,” said chief executive officer David Whelan.
“Not only will it be fun to play for casual users, it also provides an accurate physics-based simulation of the universe for players to explore and a difficult shuttle landing challenge which should bring players back again and again.”
