Back in December, Sanderson stated that in the key nine-week selling period of October and November, brand product sales were up 7% year-on-year. However, sales in the final month of 2020 were up approximately 15% on 2019.
Brand product sales in January were also said to have started well but had now been tempered by current UK national lockdown restrictions.
The AIM-listed company added that its manufacturing operations also performed more strongly in December 2020 than expected, with sales up approximately 33% year-on-year.
"This performance in both brand product sales and manufacturing has resulted in revenues being ahead of board expectations and which, owing to the group's operational gearing and the cost savings already implemented, has translated largely into profit," said Sanderson, which now expects pre-tax profits for the year ending 31 January to be no less than £6.3m.
As of 1030 GMT, Sanderson Design shares were up 8.06% at 114.0p.
