FTSE 250 movers: Travel stocks advance; Hochschild shines
London’s FTSE 250 was up 2.8% at 16,093.48 in afternoon trade on Monday.
Property development and investment company Hammerson was the standout gainer on the index.
Travel stocks were also on the rise, with tour operator TUI and budget airline Wizz Air both higher amid optimism about the easing of Covid-19-related travel restrictions.
Hochschild Mining gained after saying it was restarting operations at its Inmaculada and Pallancata mines in Peru and expected to reissue full year guidance once it hit full production and the overall impact of coronavirus suspensions was clear. The company said it planned to begin ramping up progressively to achieve full production in the coming weeks.
