FTSE 250 movers: Harbour Energy boosted by Jefferies note; Weir retreats
London’s FTSE 250 was flat at 22,568.60 in afternoon trade on Friday.
Wood Group and Cairn Energy both gained as oil prices advanced.
Harbour Energy was in the black after Jefferies said it was among its preferred buy-rated stocks in the oil and gas exploration and production sector.
Jefferies said: "Harbour Energy stock continues to lag the sector, struggling under the perception of weaker operations given two production guidance revisions since listing in April 2021, and under the stock overhang of expected creditor & PE holder selling, once off lockup.
"However, in our view the market is missing both the operational improvement that is going in 2H21, with Harbour's production and the material leverage to rising commodity prices - in spite of relatively high level off hedging."
On the downside, Weir fell after the engineer said late on Thursday that profit was set to take a hit of up to £40m following a cyberattack.
Unite Group was also weaker after the student accommodation provider said 2022 rental income was set to fall due to lower rental income in terms two and three of 2021/2022.
