London's FTSE 100 index had dropped 0. 3% by mid afternoon on Tuesday, led lower by Ferguson on the back of results and Royal Mail's profit warning a day earlier.
Airlines and housebuilders were among the losers as London's FTSE 100 index slipped into the red on Monday, in contrast to its smaller sibling and European cousins.
