Ultra Electronics poaches Castrol CFO for finance director job
Defence solutions provider Ultra Electronics said on Thursday that Ami Sharma will step down as group finance director on 1 December, to be succeeded by Jos Sclater, the current chief financial officer of Castrol Lubricants.
Sharma, who spent roughly a decade at Ultra, will remain with the company until the end of the year to facilitate a smooth handover to Sclater, who will join the group on 9 December.
After making a "substantial and valuable contribution" to the group's operational and strategic performance during his tenure, Ultra said Sharma had decided the time was right for him to step down as the company entered "a new phase of development and strategic evolution".
Chief executive Simon Pryce said: "Ami has played a very important role in the growth of Ultra. I would like to thank him for his personal support since I joined in 2018 and for his significant contribution to the group.
"He leaves the group well positioned for the next stage of our development, and we wish him every success in the future."
As of 0815 BST, Ultra Electronics shares had picked up 1.87% to 2,294p.
