No sign of agreement as Iran nuclear negotiations draw to a close
World powers and Iran are yet to come to an agreement surrounding Iran’s nuclear program, as a deadline for the talks looms closer.
According to reports, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will leave the nuclear talks on Friday and return to Tehran to finalise discussions with domestic officials. World powers are hoping that a final agreement will be made before the agreed 24 November deadline.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will also return to Paris later on Friday for further consultation on the Iranian nuclear issue.
Iran will finalise talks with the US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany on Tuesday.
The key issue raised during the diplomatic meetings surround the alarming scale of Iran's uranium enrichment, and the timetable for lifting Western sanctions against the country.
Iran denies any intention of seeking atomic weapons, stating that its nuclear programme is aimed solely at generating electricity.
