German unemployment declined faster than expected in March
German unemployment registered a slightly larger than expected drop in March.
The number of unemployed fell by 15,000 in the reference period, following a decrease of 20,000 in the month before.
The unemployment rate ticked lower by one tenth of a percentage point to 6.4%.
Economists had been anticipating a decline of 13,000 people and for the unemployment rate to remain unchanged at 6.5%.
