FTSE 250 movers: Diploma rises, Renishaw drops
London's FTSE 250 was up by 0.19% at 20,442.33 in afternoon trade on Monday, with Diploma leading the way higher.
The technical products and services provider climbed reported 15% growth in annual profit before tax after revenue climbed on the back of a good performance from the FTSE 250-listed company's healthcare businesses.
However, while the company warned of "moderately lower underlying growth" in the year aheadm it also said that this would be offset by a strong contribution from its four new acquisitions.
Great Portland Estates rose after Berenberg analysts hiked the stock's price target from 630.0p to 700.0p and boosted its full-year earnings forecast.
Renishaw was the top faller after John Collingridge wrote in his Sunday Times column that the precision engineering giant's decline in sales, largely due to the effects of US tariffs on China, suggested that it might have to expand cost-cutting measures.
"Even if Trump achieves his long-promised trade deal with China, it will take a long time before Renishaw feels any benefit. Avoid," said Collingridge.
Cinema chain Cineworld fell after analysts at Goldman Sachs cut the stock's price target from 315p to 295p.
Finally, Capital & Counties was also in the red after confirming it had agreed to sell its interests in Earls Court to APG and Delancey for £425m late on Friday.
