Director dealings: Essentra boss buys in near 52-week low

Plastic packaging and components manufacturer Essentra's boss picked up some shares in the company at the start of the week.

Chief executive Paul Forman bought 20,000 shares at 392.8p apiece for a total transaction amount of £78,560, the company said in a statement.

His purchases came on the same day that analysts at Stifel downgraded their recommendation on the company's shares from 'buy' to 'hold'.

Nearly two months beforehand, Essentra had announced the acquisition of the 49% minority interest in its filters joint venture, Essentra MEA, from Aberdeen International, which is part of the BBM Bommidala group, for £11.6m in cash.

Shares of Essentra finished the Tuesday session 4.88% lower at 397.40p, not far off their 52-week low from 21 December.
