FTSE 100 movers: Software stocks lose ground; M&S rallies
London’s FTSE 100 was down 0.4% at 10,658.84 in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Software stocks - which benefited on Monday from a slump in AI-related shares - were under the cosh. Relx, LSEG, Informa, Experian and The Sage Group all fell.
On the upside, Marks & Spencer was the top performer on the index as data from Worldpanel by Numerator showed that grocery sales at the food, clothing and homeware retailer jumped 14.8% on the year in the 12 weeks to 6 September.
B&Q owner Kingfisher followed close behind, while NatWest gained as JPMorgan lifted its price target on the bank to 830p from 790p. JPM maintained its ‘overweight’ rating on NatWest.
