FTSE 250 movers: Tullow travels higher; Vectura slumps
London’s FTSE 250 was up 0.9% at 22,888.10 in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Tullow Oil, Energean and Cairn Energy all gushed higher as oil prices rallied after OPEC predicted tighter markets.
DIY retailer Wickes - which was recently spun off from Travis Perkins - gained as it reported a surge in year-to-date sales and lifted its full-year profit expectations. The company said it now expects full-year adjusted pre-tax profit to be within the top half of the range of analyst expectations of between £55m and £74m.
Waste management company Biffa advanced after saying it swung to a full-year pre-tax loss but striking an upbeat note on the outlook.
On the downside, pharmaceuticals group Vectura slumped as it traded without entitlement to the dividend.
