FTSE 250 movers: Indivior tanks; Pets at Home gains
London’s FTSE 250 was down 0.9% at 19,219.61 in afternoon trade on Friday.
Indivior shares tumbled after the opioid addiction treatment maker said it had been made aware of a £1.07bn claim against it by consumer goods company Reckitt Benckiser.
Indivior, which was spun off from Reckitt in 2014, said the claim related to an indemnity contained in the demerger agreement they entered into then.
"The claim has not been served on the company and the company does not have any further details at this time," it said. "The company will assess with its advisors the background and merits to the case and will provide an update in due course."
Pets at Home was the top gainer on the index. Earlier in the week, shares in the company fell even as it reported higher interim profits and maintained its dividend after a strong second quarter as locked down Britons sought solace in their furry friends during the pandemic.
Analysts noted caution around Pets’ outlook statement for the full year, after the company said Covid-19 "continues to create a number of material uncertainties around the near-term trading environment, from a potential escalation of current restrictions on a national level, to reversion to a tiered system of localised restrictions".
