Staff represented by the GMB union have walked off the job at retail company’s Coventry warehouse in protest against a 50p pay rise amid claims they are "treated like robots".
Around 300 workers are expected to join the 24-hour picket lines. The union called for a walk-out after balloting members in December.
Wokers are demanding an increase in pay to £15 per hour from £10 - Amazon has offered 50p per hour.
GMB senior organiser Stuart Richards said Amazon were “taking on one of the world’s biggest companies to fight for a decent standard of living”.
“After six months of ignoring all requests to listen to workers’ concerns, GMB urges Amazon UK bosses to do the right thing and give workers a proper pay rise,” he said.
Amazon boss Jeff Bezos’ net worth is estimated to be $120bn.
