Flament was European managing director of cryptofinance group Circle and will move to Mettle, the digital arm launched by RBS in November that focuses on smaller businesses and which will be available on the app store by the end of the summer.
Mettle is designed to help entrepreneurs and growing businesses manage their finances.
Flament said, “there is a huge opportunity for disruption in SME digital banking. Insight and feedback garnered during the pilot stage have shown that we are in a very strong position to capitalise on this opportunity through Mettle."
Alison Rose, deputy chief executive of NatWest Holdings and head of commercial and private banking at RBS said Flament has a “record of breaking boundaries in the finance sector and has knowledge of adapting to a constantly evolving tech landscape.”
