The company said: "We have said that we are no longer interested in Norwegian several times in the last few months. Nothing has changed."
The statement came after Spanish news website OKdiario reported late on Thursday that IAG was planning to make an offer for Norwegian in the next two weeks.
At 1035 BST, IAG shares were down 0.3% at 456.20p, while Norwegian shares were up 13% at €4.60 despite IAG's denial of the report.
