Howden Joinery YTD revenues surge

Kitchen supplier Howden Joinery said on Thursday that UK revenues had increased 47.1% year-on-year during the 16 weeks ended 17 April, with sales growth driven by increases in both prices and volume.

Howden did add, however, that compared to 2019, its UK wing had increased revenues by 13.1% overall, with the equivalent period last year being impacted by Covid-19 lockdown measures.
On a local currency basis, the firm stated depot revenue in continental Europe had increased 108.0% when compared to equivalent periods last year and 37.6% overall when measured against 2019's performance.
Elsewhere, the FTSE 250-listed firm noted that three new UK depots had been opened so far in the year, with seven older UK depots being refurbished and plans to open around 35 new depots in the UK and 11 in France during 2021.
Howden concluded by saying it remains "confident" that it is on track with its plans for the year.
As of 0900 BST, Howden shares were up 1.45% at 810.80p.
