Howden Joinery shuts depots to stem virus spread
Howden Joinery said it had closed all its UK depots after the government announced restrictions on business activities to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The FTSE 250 kitchen maker said the closures had taken effect immediately and that its depots in continental Europe were also shut. Howden said staff, customers and communities were its top concerns.
"We are always focused on our people and our customers, and their safety is paramount," the company said. "We will continue to review the new guidance as it emerges and will update further in due course. We will seek to explore ways in which we can support our customers."
