Capricorn Energy chairman to step down

Exploration and development company Capricorn Energy revealed on Tuesday that Nicoletta Giadrossi has "accelerated her decision to step down as chair".
Capricorn stated that following a vote on its proposed nomination with NewMed, Giadrossi will step down from the board with immediate effect.
Simon Thomson, Peter Kallos, Alison Wood, and Luis Araujo will also step down from the board, effective immediately, while chief financial officer James Smith and non-executive director Keith Lough will both step down in advance of Capricorn's general meeting requisitioned for 1 February.
Capricorn added that it has been in discussions with the requisitioned GM nominee directors to seek to appoint them to the board immediately, but said that the nominee directors' were said to be waiting until 1 February.
"The continuing directors, including Cathy Krajicek and Erik B Daugbjerg, will engage with the nominee directors to ensure an orderly transition and appropriate continuity of governance. A further announcement on board reconstitution will be made in due course," said Capricorn.
As of 0930 GMT, Capricorn shares were down 0.082% at 244.20p.
