Germany's BDI calls for joint EU response to Covid-19
Germany's main business lobby group called for a joint European response to the coronavirus crisis, alongside its peers from France and Italy.
Together with France's Medef and Italy's Confindustria, BDI said "The current situation will require a degree of public support unknown in peace time."
In a joint paper, the three groups called for "a strong element of true fiscal solidarity" for the countries most impacted by the pandemic.
They called for European Union funds to be disimbursed through a mix of loans and grants, instead of just one or the other.
