Orange launches 5G network in Spain

Orange launched its 5G network in five large Spanish cities on Monday, a week after rival Telefónica.

Orange launched the network in Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Valencia and Málaga for all its customers without any additional charge to their bill.
The company expects to roll out the services in other Spanish cities shortly.
According to Mónica Sala, General Director of Red and IT for Orange in Spain, “the current pandemic has not only caused a health emergency, but also an exceptional situation from a socioeconomic point of view. In this scenario, the evolution towards a digital economy and society becomes more urgent than ever.
“In line with our commitment to society, at Orange we have taken a step forward to support this digital revolution with the launch of the new 5G technology, with which we hope to promote the development of the country ”.
This is the latest European telecom to roll out its new services that will be used for smartphone downloads and supporting smart devices and factories.
