Moderna's jab against Covid-19 should provide protection from Covid-19 for at least one year.
The biotechnology company provided that assessment at a healthcare conference hosted by JP Morgan.
It also expressed confidence in the ability of mRNA technology to adapt the existing vaccine to effectively tackle new strains of the novel coronavirus.
Between 600m and 1.0bn doses of the vaccine would be produced in 2021, the company added, resulting in sales of roughly $11.7bn for the year.
Its chief executive officer added: "The team feels very comfortable with the track record we have now [...] that we are on track to deliver at least 600 million doses."
