Microsoft lowers Q3 guidance as coronavirus interrupts supply chain
Tech giant Microsoft warned late on Wednesday that it was set to fall short of guidance on some of its third-quarter figures as a result of issues stemming from the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak.

Microsoft had previously forecast for third-quarter sales of $10.75bn-$11.15bn in its More Personal Computing segment, which "included a wider-than-usual range to reflect uncertainty related to the public health situation in China".
While Microsoft said there was still "strong" demand for Windows, in line with the expectations, the group said its supply chain was returning to normal operations "at a slower pace than anticipated".
"As a result, for the third quarter of fiscal year 2020, we do not expect to meet our More Personal Computing segment guidance as Windows OEM and Surface are more negatively impacted than previously anticipated," the company said.
Yet Microsoft also said that the rest of its third-quarter guidance remained unchanged.
As of 1350 GMT, Microsoft shares were down 3.84% in pre-market trading at $163.63 each.
