Wednesday preview: Fedspeak in the spotlight
The focus on Wednesday is likely to continue to be on the news-flow around the ongoing US-China trade talks.
Against that backdrop, the economic calendar is exceedingly light, with the most noteworthy talking points for markets expected to be around the various Fedpseakers that are scheduled to take to the podium, including the heads of the Federal Reserve bank of Chicago and his peers at the San Franciso and Philadelphia Feds.
Readings on US non-farm productivity and labour costs in the third quarter are also due out, at 1330 GMT.
Across the Channel meanwhile, consultancy IHS Markit's services sector Purchasing Managers' Index for the euro area in October is expected at 0900 GMT.
Further afield, interest rate decisions are scheduled in Poland and Thailand.
