Yourgene's testing laboratories will support private testing demand as UK GP surgeries, private clinics and other corporate clients struggle to keep up.
The AIM-listed firm said it was also developing its first infectious disease test called Clarigene SARS-CoV-2 test - a molecular Covid-19 assay, which was able to detect whether individuals were currently infected.
Yourgene aims to release a "Research Use Only" version of Clarigene by the end of June 2020.
Chief executive Lyn Rees said: "The addition of the Clarigene infectious disease product portfolio strengthens our offering through our commercial channels and supports one of the strategic pillars of growth - our product diversification strategy."
Yourgene added that its core molecular diagnostics business was performing in line with management's expectations and remained on track to build on its "strong" year-end performance.
As of 0910 BST, Yourgene shares were up 3.51% at 18.89p.
