The experience, which opens at the museum on 10 June in a new attraction to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, will provide visitors with the opportunity to experience the moon landing within virtual reality using a shortened version of the AIM traded company's showcase Apollo 11 VR experience.
Visitors can purchase tickets for this experience at any one of 15 stations at circa $10-15 and VR Education will benefit from this through a revenue share negotiated as part of the agreement.
David Whelan, chief executive of VR Education, said: "The center has given us a prime location within the museum where visitors can participate in the Apollo 11 VR experience. It is fantastic to be working with the US Space and Rocket Center, which has major plans for the promotion of this experience to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the moon landing."
The Space and Rocket Center is a Nasa Visitor Centre, a Smithsonian Affiliate and is Alabama's top paid tourist attraction.
Meanwhile, the experience's selection for the Oculus Anywhere Programme will see it made available as a demo on Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift S, Oculus Rift and Oculus Go virtual reality headsets in a branded kiosk, staffed by Oculus brand ambassadors.
These demo experiences will be on show at consumer electronics conferences like Sundance, PAX, F8, GDC.
"It is also great to be working with Facebook to promote educational content via our Apollo 11 VR experience, which was updated to an HD version last year, to show users that VR is used for more than just entertainment," said Whelan.
VR Education's shares were up 3.78% at 9.60p at 1259 BST.
