Providence Resources names Alan Curran as interim CEO
Irish energy company Providence Resources has tapped Alan Curran to take over as interim chief executive, effective immediately.
Providence said on Monday that Curran's career spans 40 years in the oil and gas industry, where he has held a wide range of senior roles - most recently leading transformational restructuring strategy at Verus Petroleum where he was CEO from 2014 to 2019.
Following Curran's appointment, James Menton will revert to his role as non-executive chairman of the board.
Menton said, "As a board, our primary objective is to progress our appraisal programme leading to a phased commercial development of the Barryroe oil and gas field. We are confident that the field can be successful and I have no doubt that, with his extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, Alan's knowledge and expertise will assist the board in optimising the Barryroe Field."
As of 0900 BST, Providence shares were down 2.90% at 3.01p.
