Cake Box believes the acquisition of the two warehouse and distribution centres, funded from existing cash resources, will help support its future growth, including new franchise store openings which it said were continuing strongly and in line with its plans.
The AIM-listed group also noted it intends to install some sponge production capability at its new centres, enabling Cake Box to reduce its distribution costs and provide a back up to its existing production facility in Enfield.
Elsewhere, Cake Box said it would provide investors with a trading update for the year ended 31 March in April.
As of 0840 GMT, Cake Box shares had picked up 0.96% to 158.
