Best of the Best beating expectations as move to online pays off
Weekly car and lifestyle competition organiser Best of the Best reported on Tuesday that trading for the six months ended 31 October had been “encouraging”, with the positive momentum it spoke of at its annual general meeting continuing.
The AIM-traded firm said the profits before tax it had generated in the period were tracking ahead of market expectations for the current financial year.
That was put down to the continued strong performance of its online strategy, and move away from physical locations.
The firm’s board said it remained confident about the prospects of the company in the year ahead, and its pure online strategy.
“This week the company is delighted to be celebrating its 500th ‘Dream Car’ winner,” the board said in its statement.
“Whilst there is a guaranteed winner of a car every single week, to mark this significant milestone, the company will guarantee the winner of a supercar worth around £200,000, to be announced next Tuesday.”
Best of the Best said its results for six months ended 31 October were set to be announced on 30 January.
As at 1216 GMT, shares in Best of the Best were up 3.16% at 294p.
