Entry into Japanese advertising market
Mirriad and Fuji Television Network Inc. deliver Japanese in-content first
Mirriad, the leading in-content advertising company, today announces a new collaboration with Japanese television network, Fuji TV, that launched the Company's in-content advertising solution to the Japanese market.
Japan is the world's third largest advertising market with 2021 expenditure estimated at almost $52bn, according to Zenith's December 2021 advertising report, of which television advertising represents over $17.5bn.
Award-winning Fuji TV is one of the largest broadcasters in Japan. Its programmes cover a wide variety of popular genres across drama, music, news and variety shows. The first Mirriad advertising insertions appeared in a drama show airing on Fuji's Video On Demand (VOD) platform on Saturday, 26 February. In a world first, Fuji TV used air-time immediately after the show to demonstrate to viewers how the in-content advertising format works and the process behind delivering this innovative solution.
Stephan Beringer, CEO of Mirriad, said: "Working with a leading television network in Japan such as Fuji TV is a very important milestone for Mirriad as we bring our unique in-content advertising solution to a new market.
"This collaboration with Fuji TV is yet another demonstration of the increased demand for Mirriad's solution as we work with some of the world's most progressive content distributors. Momentum is building for Mirriad rolling out its transformative advertising solution to new markets across the globe and establishing in-content advertising as a new standard in the industry."
Yusuke Fujikawa, Digital Design Department, Fuji Television Network, Inc., said: "The way people consume video content is changing fast.
"Mirriad's in-content technology expands options and possibilities for AVOD content services. For viewers, it provides an in-stream ad interruption-free viewing experience, and for sponsors, it enables more natural advertising by matching the content. We look forward to further introducing the new possibilities in-content advertisement offers to the Japanese market."
