FTSE 250 movers: Foxtons dives after issuing profit warning

Estate agency group Foxtons plunged after it delivered a profit warning after being hit by the slowdown in the UK property market. The company said that full-year operating profits would be "below the prior year figure of £49.6m".

Ladbrokes failed to impress with its third quarter results, which showed that UK retail net revenue rose 6% as better football results resulted in UK over-the-counter margins of 17% against 14.9% a year ago.

IG Group dropped into the red after going ex-dividend.

Meanwhile, automotive retail and services company Inchcape reported a strong third quarter performance, with revenue up 10.6% year-on-year at £1.697bn at constant currency. Total revenue for the first nine months to the end of September was £5.033bn, up 9.6% at constant currency and 1.9% at actual currency compared to the same period last year.

Tanzania-focused African Barrick Gold impressed the market with rising output and falling costs in the third quarter, as it reiterated its full-year guidance to produce 700,000 ounces of gold.

Department store group Debenhams reported a better second half and said it was confident about Christmas, although annual profits still fell. The group said it achieved higher full-price sales and fewer days of product promotions in the second half, resulting in better gross margins. It also started to make better use of its shop space and had improved its online delivery service.

Drinks maker Britvic forecast fizzier-than-expected annual profits as a strong international performance made up for weaker weather-hit sales in Europe. It said full year pre-tax earnings before interest would be marginally ahead of the top end of its previous guidance range of £148m-£156m and well ahead of last year.
