FTSE 100 movers: Miners rebound, Hargreaves Lansdown plummets

Mining stocks rebounded from heavy losses on Monday, when a number of investment banks lowered their price targets for iron ore over the coming years. Shares in BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Glencore and Anglo American were all trading higher.

Stock in Hargreaves Lansdown plummeted after Peter Hargreaves, the co-founder of group stepped down from the board.

Aberdeen Asset Management was in the red following a ratings downgrade from 'sector perform' to 'underperform', from analysts at RBC Capital Markets.

Shares in 3i reversed into negative territory after the investment group named Simon Thompson as its new non-executive chairman on Monday, replacing Sir Adrian Montague.

Pearson continued lower after the provider of educational books and the owner of the Financial Times had its rating lowered to ‘underperform’ from ‘buy’ at Jefferies.
