UK opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has been inked in at 3/1 with bookmaker Ladbrokes to be prime minister in 2019.

To see in the new year, the bookie priced up a range of political scenarios, with the most likely being Corbyn to replace Theresa May next year.

Meanwhile, punters can get 4/1 on the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats replacing their leaders by the end of the year.

May, who faces an uphill battle to get her much-maligned Brexit deal through parliament next month, is now just 2/5 to be replaced next year - record lows for the PM. Former Foreign Secretary, the gaffe-prone Boris Johnson is 5/1 to replace her.

"We're expecting plenty of changes in the world of politics next year, and May must have already started packing her bags if the latest odds are anything to go by," said Alex Apati of Ladbrokes.

The bookmaker put the odds of another UK referendum before end of 2019 at 5/4 with the odds of a 'remain' result at 5/2. The likelihood of no referendum was 4/6 and a no-deal Brexit 3/1.
