Wizz Air eligible for support under Covid financing facility

Budget airline Wizz Air said on Tuesday that it is eligible for support under the UK Government's Covid Corporate Financing Facility.

The facility provides funding to businesses by buying commercial paper of up to one-year maturity, issued by firms making what is deemed to be a material contribution to the UK economy.

"Wizz Air remains focused on further strengthening the company's robust balance sheet and excellent liquidity with €1.5bn of cash at the end of March 2020, one of the strongest in the airline industry," the company said.
