WisdomTree creates distribution role, appoints McKinsey & Company partner

WisdomTree investments has hired Kurt MacAlpine as executive vice president-head of global distribution.

MacAlpine will leave his role as a partner at McKinsey & Company for the newly created role at WisdomTree, which has about $63b in assets under management around the world.

WisdomTree chief executive and president Jonathan Steinberg said MacAlpine will help leverage data and technology to better serve clients, and expand distribution initiatives.

Steinberg said the new hire along with fresh leadership in the head of sales roles for both the United States and Europe would help the firm capitalise on the “tremendous” opportunity ahead.
