Vedanta Resources' subsidiary names new CEO

Vedanta Resources said its subsidiary Hindustan Zinc has appointed Sunil Duggal as its chief executive.

The FTSE 250 group said Duggal, who joined the company in 2010, will step into his new role on 1 October 2015, when he will replace Akhilesh Joshi, who has been appointed the president of Vedanta’s global zinc business.

Joshi has been with the company for the last 39 years and will continue to provide “strategic leadership and support to Vedanta's zinc business”, the group said on Monday.

Vedanta shares were down 0.86% to 518.00p at 1418 BST on Monday.
