Tesco and Sainsbury's recall tinned goods over rubber fears

Both Tesco and Sainsbury’s issued a recall for some tinned food on Wednesday, amid fears they may contain rubber.

The supermarkets - Britain’s number one and two grocers, respectively - confirmed the recall was a “precautionary measure”, and advised customers not to eat the affected products.

Affected goods included beef ravioli sold by both supermarkets, and macaroni cheese from Sainsbury’s.

All of the products being recalled were manufactured in Belgium, with the Food Standards Agency saying no other Sainsbury’s and Tesco products or batches other than those on the recall list were affected.
