Waste and water company Severn Trent has reassured investors it has made a good start to current financial year, including a £100m investment programme.

Severn said that since the start of the financial year on 1 April, there had been “no material change” to its performance or outlook. The group last updated on trading at the end of May, when it posted full-year results that included plans to reinvest £100m of efficiency savings back into the business.

In a statement, it added: “We continue to focus on things that matter most to our customers and we are pleased to be in the upper quartile of utility companies in the most recent UK customer service index. We are on track with the £100m reinvestment announced in May, which will benefit our customers.”

Severn Trent is responsible for the water supply management and waste water treatment and disposal in the Midlands.
