Technology group Seeing Machines has received the first order for 750 units of its new 'Fleet' product that monitors drivers to help prevent "fatigue and distraction events".

The Australia-based group did not disclose any financial details of the order, which was received by its distributor Insurance Underwriting Managers in South Africa and is expected to be delivered this month.

Seeing Machines rolled out its Fleet line in the US in April and said it was now riding the wave of "the larger number of positive sales leads generated".

Meanwhile, the group said that its automotive division was collaborating with Takata Corp to implement its technology into passenger cars, while the group’s eye tracking technology has recently been installed in a Boeing Flight Services 737 Flight Simulator at the Brisbane International Airport.

The company has also reported encouraging developments in its rail industry division, where it is working in partnership with Electro-Motive Diesel.

Seeing Machines shares were up 6.86% to 4.68p at 11:28 on Wednesday.
