Sainsbury's and US discount retailer Target are to stock health tracking devices supplied by AIM-listed group Fitbug.

Fitbug said the pair would stock its products in their clothing and non-food ranges from November. Sainsbury's will roll out Fitbug products in 293 of its stores.

Fitbug supplies activity tracking devices which download to its app and website to allow people to monitor their daily activity against personalised weekly activity and nutrition targets, as well as giving feedback, advice and encouragement.

Its chief executive Malcolm Fried said the deals represented Fitbug's largest retail sales agreements worldwide to date.

"We are delighted to have Fitbug products stocked by retailers of the quality, reputation and scale of Target and Sainsbury's."

Fitbug shares rose 0.35p or 93.3% to 0.73p at 08:25 in London.
