Polymetal begins trading on Kazakhstan's AIX market

Polymetal confirmed on Thursday that trading in its ordinary shares on the Astana International Exchange had commenced, effective 24 April.

The FTSE 250 company said a total of 1,690,440 shares amounting to $17m were successfully placed in the process.

“The results of the secondary sale have exceeded our expectations, with demand shown from both institutional and private investors,” said Polymetal chief executive officer Vitaly Nesis.

“I hope that interest towards Polymetal will grow as we become more familiar to the local investor base.”

Polymetal shares were being traded under the ticker ‘POLY’, with quotation and settlement in dollars.

The board confirmed it was fully fungible between the LSE, MOEX and AIX markets.
