Independent TV Motive Television has been appointed as prime contractor and system integrator ahead of the launch of Siyaya Free To Air TV.

The deal with the South Africa-based broadcaster is expected to generate over $5m over the next five years, Motive said in a statement on Monday, adding it will be responsible for ensuring the suppliers chosen by Siyaya meet their deadlines.

The group added the deal is an add-on to the original deal the two companies signed at the end of 2013, which will see Motive continue to develop, install and test its technology.

"Motive is pleased to take on the responsibility of helping with selecting, coordinating, managing and bringing together the technical work of a consortium of major international and South African providers to ensure that Siyaya has efficient and successful launch and operations,” said group chief executive Leonard Fertig.

Motive shares were down 4.62% to 0.00620p at 0945 BST on Monday.
