Embattled grocer Morrisons re-jigged its corporate committees, using existing board members to take on roles on its Corporate Compliance and Responsibility Committee.

Morrisons said on Thursday chief executive David Potts and executive director Phillip Cox would join the committee.

After culling half the supermarket’s management back in March, former Tesco chief executive Potts said he would operate a “leaner” board in future.

Last month a Kantar Worldpanel found in the six weeks to June 21 Morrisons had increased its share of the grocery market for the first time since 2011.

Shares in Morrisons were down 0.99% to 179.90p on Thursday at 16:32.
