Metro Bank appoints regulatory and compliance expert to board

Metro Bank announced the appointment of Monique Melis as a new independent non-executive director.

Melis had a breadth of experience in the financial services and regulatory experience across established and growth markets.

She also had exhaustive experience advising banks, large global hedge funds and traditional asset managers and was a specialist on internal controls, compliance and regulatory requirements, the company said in a statement.

At the time of her appointment she was a managing director and the global head of regulatory consulting at global valuation and corporate finance at Duff & Phelps and a member of its Luxembourg Management Company's Board.

Vernon Hill, Metro Bank, chairman and founder commended Monique's experience highlighting her skills and experience as complimentary assets to those of the rest of the board members.
